My husband and I just want to thank you so much for the wonderful job you did on the counter tops in our kitchen. I know it was a large and difficult job, but you attacked it with zest and enthusiasm. We know you are a hard worker and expect perfection from yourself. We are very impressed with you and your work and if we ever have any more work done in the future, we will most certainly call upon you for your help. Marian and Bob E

After ten years of dreaming about updating our 1960’s home, it became a reality after I contacted Washington Kitchen and Bath. Our remodeling project is now completed and we are extremely pleased with the process from the beginning to the end. I visited Home Show Daily in Seattle and their exhibit impressed me with the products and the artistry displayed in their space. A scheduled appointment was held soon afterwards with the General Contractor and Project Manager and I felt very comfortable and confident in their assessment of our remodeling plans. I really appreciate that WSKB offered us expert assistance in choosing products and color combination that matched our home. They gave me the freedom of time to make these important design decisions, as well as honoring family time during holidays and a couple of short vacations! WSKB were extremely easy to work with, providing us with a step by step process, making choices, additions, offering good advice along the way. If there was a problem, it was dealt with until we were pleased with the outcome. We needed a general contractor in charge to oversee that the order of events were scheduled in the correct order needed to complete our project. We are very pleased and proud of our three, completely remodeling bathrooms, new cabinets in the laundry room and a complete new downstairs area. The downstairs includes one of the bathrooms, new cabinets, countertops, floor tiles, carpet in the rec area and guest room, new wood floors in the office with a new countertop on the existing built in cabinets, all with our choices of paint colors. I feel that we have a complete new home, a place where we will enjoy for many years. Thanks to Washington State Kitchen and Bath for their patience working with us and always entertained by their winning personalities. I would highly recommend their services, knowing that they are accessible by email or cell phone, very responsive to the customer. We feel that their business is built on honesty and integrity and would welcome them again in our home for other home improvements Stephanie S.

Description Of Work: We had our master bathroom completely gutted out down to the studs and sub floor. We have a steam shower, tiled, with a bench and the shower is 4 feet by 5 feet. Also, a heated towel rack, a built in linen closet, a double sink with granite counter top. The floor is tiled with heat, which is nice in the cooler weather.

Member Comments: All of the personnel that came to work on the job were very professional and meticulous. We never had a problem with any of the workers and the manager of Washington State Kitchen and Bath was always in contact with us and keeping us up to date with what was going on and they finished with the job within the time frame.

We are totally happy with our beautiful new shower and bathroom and found the whole experience of working with WA State Kitchen and Bath to be absolutely great. Our new tile shower, floor, and walls are really beautiful, and so functional. Erin and everyone that works for WSKB are professional, hard working, very experienced, and just nice people to interact with. Erin, the manager, and Lindsey, in the office, were in touch with us every day during the project, so we always knew what was going on and what would be happening next in the work. The project turned out so much better than our best hopes – it’s truly an awesome bathroom now! Right from the initial consultation visit, Erin was very knowledgeable and really easy to work with. He asked good questions to figure out what we wanted and made great suggestions on different options. He had complete information about all the materials they would use. We wanted to be sure our new shower would be water tight and mold-free, so we liked the wedi system. And we like that WSKB uses Quartz Lock grout which is really strong, but lower VOC and more environmentally friendly than other grouts. WSKB set up a complete contract with us that was straightforward and clear, with all costs defined and included, so there were no surprises. They did all of the work detailed in the contract and much more. Our house, prior to our purchase, has had a history of repair and remodeling work done by lots of different people and contractors. So as WSKB worked on our shower remodel, they encountered some of the dicey work left by others, and they just fixed it. We were really impressed by how they solved every problem, and really appreciated that they did it all as part of the contract. The tile work is beautiful, a work of art, with a lot of attention to detail. They kept the work area and our house as tidy as possible while working too, which was really professional and considerate. It was easy to tell that they wanted to do the job right. Remodeling our bathroom was a big deal for us. It’s a lot of money to spend, and so we wanted to ensure the job was done right so that we’d have a great, trouble-free shower for years to come. We wondered whether any contractor would care enough to do a great job on our smallish bathroom job. But WA State Kitchen and Bath really did care, and did wonderful work. I have been recommending WSKB to everyone I know, and we would definitely use them again for any other work in our house. Jean J.

Thanks for everything. I love my new bathroom. The remodel was a pleasant experience, due in large part to your unbelievably lightning-quick responsiveness to my calls, emails, and issues that came up. Chris

While we were at the Tacoma Home Show, my wife and I visited the Washington State Kitchen & Bath booth to inquire about a remodel project of installing new railing and handrails in the entryway to our home. They scheduled us with a meeting with their rep at our home and as I am a retired Washington State L&I regional Contractor Registration supervisor I followed my own advice and looked them up at LNI.WA.Gov. They had a good record with no problems noted. We met at our home to discuss the remodel. He was very cordial and a great help in the planning of our project. On 3/21/11 the worker showed up on time to start the remodel. The job was done quickly in less than six hours by a very capable professional young man, all debris was cleaned up and taken away. The finished job is a great addition to our home and my wife and I are very happy with the results. Washington State Kitchen and Bath will be getting a call when we plan our next project. Tom B.

The kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and my wife loves it. Everyone who has seen it raves about it. The tile, the lighting, the new sink, the cabinets and the granite counter tops are stunning. The kitchen looks like something you’d see in a magazine or one of the expensive condos my wife and I have occasionally stayed in on vacation. We got good value for the money. A competitor that we asked for an estimate would have only done the cabinets, made me the general contractor and I would have had to find my own plumber & electrician. A real pain! Washington State Kitchen & Bath was one stop shopping and I only had to deal with them. They handled electrical, plumbing, granite counter tops, kitchen cabinets, everything. Much easier for the home owner. I even sent Erin photos of the finished project and said he could use them for advertising if he wished. Blake M

I’ve seen mold growth on Hardibacker as well. I don’t know if it has something to do with the makeup of Hardi, because it’ s actually a fiber cement board, but it does seem to draw and hold water much more than standard CBU. If there is a surface – applied waterproofing in use, that’s great for the CBU from floor level up. Below floor level, though, is a different story. A prope rly sloped liner in conjunction with a 1/2″ gap between the bottom of the CBU and the liner should prevent wicking. Do you know if there is a pre – sloped bed of mortar under the liner? Very important step there. But yes, what the others said. A complete env elope from shower head level down to the drain keeps water from getting into the substrate to begin with Kman

Kitty and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all the hard work put in by you and the craftsmen working on our kitchen remodel. The results are what we had hoped for when we first started planning the project, and they reflect the thorough planning, advice, and material choices available through Washington State Kitchen and Bath. When we first started thinking about a remodel, we spent a couple of years at home shows throughout Kitsap and King Counties looking at cabinets, fixtures, appliances, counter tops and flooring. We also spoke with numerous contractors and designers regarding their expertise and approach to a project like ours. In the end, our decision came down to the fact that you were able to manage every aspect of the job from design to material choices, demolition and disposal to plumbing, electrical and installation of flooring, cabinets, and cutting and installation of our granite counters, etc. You were there as the sole source if we had any questions or concerns and you were very effective at keeping in touch and informing us regarding the scheduling of work and deliveries. This made things a lot more comfortable for us. There were a couple of issues which concerned us, and you were quick to make it right. We are very happy with the results and have recommended your services to friends. Tom and Kitty K

We have been looking for long time to remodel our bathroom, so I joined Enzy’s list and I was looking all the reviews and that how I found the WSKB. Well one of the thing they talked about which is also our top priority is that ensuring that shower is leak free and mold free. So that was really important that if we are gonna do this job , we want do it right. Also like that they would like to use more environments friendly martial in their work I am really happy to recommend WSKB . When the company is that easy to work with, and they do the job you need, that’s something you want people to tell about. Margaret

Home Build Year: 1987 Description Of Work: It was a master bath remodel. Essentially everything but the bathtub and cabinet were replaced. Removed carpeting from master bath, master closet and replaced with 12-inch tile. Removed existing shower stall and built custom shower using tile on Wedi backing material. Install granite counter top with two under mount sinks to existing cabinet. Replaced tile around existing bathtub. Replaced old tile on sheetrock with tile on Wedi backing material. Removed and replaced toilet. Removed and replaced lighting fixture. All hardware for sinks, tub and shower replaced with brushed nickel hardware. Existing mirror removed, resized for new light fixture, and reinstalled. Repainted. Customer Comments: We had four companies out for estimates on this job. This was the only company that did not have to go away for five days to two weeks to get a number in our hands. They left a ballpark estimate with us the same day and followed up a couple days later with the final number which was within a couple hundred dollars of the ballpark estimate. After we selected materials and colors they set up a start date about a week away. They arrived on time the first day and did the demo work. Plastic, paper, and tarps were always down to prevent tracking on our carpeting and wood floors. From that day on we were informed in advance who would be at our house and when. More important we were informed when there were days when nothing was going to happen due to scheduling. In short, communication was excellent. Since this is a built up shower the glass door cannot be measured until the job is essentially done. Excluding the week waiting for the door to be cut and installed, it was 26 calendar days from the demo to their cleaning person finishing the job. We were quite pleased. Everything really went smoothly and there was only one small issue which they fixed promptly. Near the end of the project we discovered a small water blister in our family room below the bathroom. Apparently during the plumbing work a small amount of water must have spilled. The blister appeared dry but we waited until we had been using the shower for a week before fixing it just to make sure there was no leak. Their paint guy was all over it. We cannot even see where it was. This company uses allowances for tile and fixtures which were quite generous. Essentially, if you go over the allowances you owe at the end of the job. If your selections are under the allowances they credit back the difference at the end. The only issue was the shower door which came it at $500 over the allowance. They immediately realized they had bid a one piece door instead of two and they did not charge for the overage. Our house was built in 1987 and all of the plumbing angle valves were plastic. These particular valves were code at the time but later disallowed due to failures. Since they were replacing the valves in the master bath, we asked them if they would replace the other nine in the house. This was not in the original estimate and we expected to pay for the additional work. They were embarrassed by the small water spillage mentioned earlier and called it an even trade. We still think we owe them something for this extra work, but they would not take anything. Geez, what kind of contractors are these! Ask for Victor if you have them do tile work. He is very methodical and a bit of a perfectionist, and who doesn’t want perfectionists working on their homes. Overall we are very pleased with the end result and would recommend this company.
